Gia Petriashvili Commends Pension Reform

2019-01-14

Gia Petriashvili, the General Director of MBC, believes that the accumulative pension reform will create a long-term financial resource in the country contributing to the development of capital market.

"Most of MBC employees are under 40. In support of the pension reform, we decided to raise wages by 5% from 1 January.  I think it is very important to create long-term financial resources in the form of pension funds for the sustainable development of the country. The reform implemented in Georgia relies on the best international practices providing a strong impetus for the development of capital market in the country", - Gia Petriashvili says.

"As a result of wage increases our employees will easily manage to pay pension contributions to their own pension accounts. Employee contributions will be supplemented by contributions payable by our company and government in the double amount. This will help to improve the employees' well-being, which is one of the main goals of MBC social policy", - Petriashvili says.
